Tips for Cartoon Nail Designs
Do not go overboard with glitter. If you want to add some sparkle to your cartoon nails, use matte glitter instead of shiny glitter because it looks more natural in this kind of design style than shinier glitter does.
Try not to use too many colors at once—two or three is usually enough. The more colors you use, the harder it is for viewers to focus on any one color, and the greater chance there is of them mixing up another color with one of your own.
If possible, try using two shades of one color rather than two different colors altogether (e.g., pink and red). This will give a more cohesive look to your design without sacrificing detail or contrast between elements like flowers or stars on each nail bed.
If you're looking for vibrant contrast between elements in your design (such as flowers), consider using complementary colors instead of contrasting ones.
If drawing your favorite cartoon nail art is hard work, try cartoon nail wraps or press-on nails for accent nails and do the rest yourself.
Be sure to find a design within the realm of possibility for your nail shape and size. If you have short, stubby nails, don't expect to be able to do intricate details like swirls or stripes. And if your nails are really long, don't try anything too complex or detailed—it'll just look messy.
